When I first started creating these, I was actually looking to create some typical festive treats in low carb form...who doesn't love Apple crumble ?
So I only used 3 apples between 30 portions so as not to add too many carbs to this treat, but the flavours are out of this world.
The base,crust and crumble is made from home made macadamia butter dough, and the sauce inside is stewed apples chopped into very small pieces, and thickened with psyllium husk, flavoured with cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger and fresh cream sweetened with xylitol.
I decided to put the cream inside to add a whole new level of flavour to this yummy sauce.
Net carbs per pie is 2.5g.
